Hi, I have only played the demo version of the game and found it to be very informative. I think it can be very valuable for learning about shot placement, equipment selection and ethical hunting. Will be trying the full game as soon as my copy arrives.
Pity, however, that traditional equipment are not set up as an option yet. That would really be the cherry on top.
Looking forward to the future scene updates. Hope bowfishing will be part of it.
Good Luck
Renier

Dear Renier

Thank you for the feedback. The game will especially be helpful to our foreign visitors visiting South Africa for their first hunt, to learn about our various species and where the vitals are situated. I hope this game will be an inspiration to our young archers to become educated hunters through a fun-filled computer game. Please enjoy your copy of African Bowhunter. We will keep you posted with regards to the traditional equipment and bowfishing, which should feature on a future edition. Updates will be available soon. Best regards.

Hi
Patrick
Why are there frontal shots even on Large game surely this would not be wise with a bow and arrow?

Why not? This weekend I have hunted a Buffalo facing me full-on at 20 yards. The set-up? 85 lbs PSE Big Five @ 30" draw, 650 gr. arrow fit with a 240 gr. Tahwkaw two-bladed broadhead (refer game). The heart was penetrated, the aorta severed, one lung cut, the liver punctured and the arrow lodged in the stomach. The animal ran for 40 yards, and collapsed within 10 minutes. It pretty much depends on your shot placement - ensure you 'read' the angle at which the animal is facing you correctly, and slip the arrow between the shoulder blade and sternum, in an angle sufficient to penetrate the right vitals. Regards!
